Suggested Patrol Equipment For Klondike
Patrol & Den Required Equipment – Be prepared!!!!
There is no required list of equipment needed; however
each patrol should come prepared and have at least the following:
1.) galvanized trash can lid, wood for building a fire, water for putting out
the fire. Scouts should be prepared to start a fire with only wood (no paper,
lint or other fire starters) and using a limited number of matches.
2.) 5 to 6 foot long poles & rope for lashing & knots
3.) a blanket, first aid materials, and compasses
4.) Cup & spoon for each scout for drinks & soup throughout the day
5.) 20 index cards labeled with the patrol name, unit number, and town
6.) Can of soup for each scout for the soup/stew
7.) Lunch – hot lunch to be cooked on the trial. You may use a camp stove
or any other means to cook your meal. All food, cooking supplies and tools to
prepare the meal must be carried on the sled. Don’t forget
a written menu and duty roster.
8.) Trash bag for all trash and litter
9.) 50 - 100 ft strong rope
