Hi Everyone,
On Sunday September 20th there will be an orienteering event at Great Brook farm in Carlisle. For those scouts who need First class requirement #2 signed off, this will complete most of the requirement. We can go over the height and distance measurement at a troop meeting. Orienteering is a lot of fun and the map and compass reading are basic Scout skills. It would be best to keep the Scout groups to three and under for the boys to learn how to use their map and compass, so we will need an adult or experienced older Scout with each group. The approximate costs are $6. per group and $2. per additional map. Each Scout should have a compass and get his own map. there is a $2. parking fee if you don't have a state parks permit.
